Opentextile.com shows the trends of Proposte 2006
by Ricardo Serrà.

Once more it took place close to the lake di Como, in Villa Erba, the Proposte fair.

For all the people that do not know this fair, it is advisable to visit it because is a fair of reference for the upholstery and decoration sector. Due to the limitation of space, there are many companies that exhibit out of the enclosure in other villas, hotels or in tents.

Before giving my opinion and joining trends of the fairs that we visited, let us have a bit of feeling with leaders companies that exhibit in these dates.

ITALVELLUTI: Specialist in upholstery.
Inside its stand we could see 3 very clear lines.
One retro type: where the clear backgrounds play with drawings of the seventies of the golden epoch of Paris, in red, pink and green colours. The majority of them printed. Very retro.
Classic type: Textures: in velvet in plain and jacquard or flat type or grain of rice. As for the colours the velvets are very vivacious type fuchsia, silver and as for the flat fabrics, grey background and prevailing the matt black. Very discreet designs predominating the plain concepts.
Trend type: similar textures to the classic ones, but with the colour of dark moss as great innovation.
As for the qualities, the linen is the most used. In the vivacious colours are always synthetic compositions.

PONSON: Specialist in curtains.

As good manufacturer - creator, its fabrics are of design and of great quality. For this edition they have presented curtains in 340 cm high, with qualities of organza and fantasy, wrinkled and with or without jacquard. Designs with vertical or horizontal stripes type of grade. Very original. As for the colours they bet for the matt black colours, clear violets combined with greens type moss but light.

ARVE: Specialist in upholstery.
Inside its new collection they have jacquard, plain and printed fabrics. Commercial lines and with very modern concepts of colour. Negroes' combinations with violets and beiges backgrounds type linen, were shocking. Very well presented and coordinated collection.

A more global vision of the trend:
Inside our site we have incorporated the section of the furniture and thanks to it, every time we have more information of things that are new for us and it gives us more knowledge to be able to offer you better information.

After the Maison & Object fair of January, where already we saw trends by the editors and the most ultramodern in furniture, this trend is reaffirmed in the Proposte fair in May.

Our opinion about the trend:

The fabrics as support are; the plain type fabrics two faces with flat background, flat fabrics type chenille, jacquards with flat backgrounds and the motif chenille type.
Compositions: Linen, cotton, polyester, viscose, the most used. The natural compositions dominate.
Colours: The combinations of trend: black with fuchsia and a bit of silver. It can be brilliant and matt. Green type moss, mixed grey. Something of violet but it is very advanced.
The incorporation of the green, it is very good because it allows to coordinate it with the collections of the past season where the orange, brown and lead colours predominate.
Depending on the fabric it will have an optical effect.
As for designs of prints, it is varied but there is a trend in “retro” collections, and in fabrics with a high % of printed linen with motifs on black colours.
