ITMA
2007: More than 1300 exhibitors already registered
One-half
year before ITMA 2007 opens its gates from 13 to 20 September,
more than 1,300 exhibitors have registered for the International
Exhibition of Textile Machinery in Munich, which is already
more than at ITMA 2003.
While 1,279
exhibitors took part in ITMA 2003 in Birmingham, more than 1,300
exhibitors (as of 1 March 2007: 1,318 exhibitors) will present
their innovations and products in Munich. Consequently, ITMA
is again underlining its position as the leading trade fair
of the textile machinery industry.
The participation
of manufacturers of machines and accessories for nonwovens production
has increased considerably by about 50 percent with 60 exhibitors
and 9,300 square metres compared to the last ITMA (6,359 square
metres). Suppliers from this segment will be represented in
two halls (A3 and B3) in Munich.
The growth
rate in the area of machinery and accessories for the making-up
industry is even somewhat higher, which has increased from 2,221
square metres in 2003 to 3,400 square metres. In addition, many
of the key players of the embroidery machinery industry such
as Barudan, Tajima, ZSK and KSM are again taking part after
having not exhibited in 2003. The leading manufacturers of flat
knitting machines, who were not present in Birmingham in 2003,
will again exhibit at ITMA 2007 too.
In the area
of dyestuffs and textile chemicals, the increase in exhibition
area at ITMA 2007 is approximately 60 percent with 1,710 square
metres compared to 2003 with 1,071 square metres. All important
manufacturers of dyestuffs and textile chemicals will present
their innovations in Munich. This includes renowned companies
such as CHT, Clariant, Fortex, Graf, Huntsman and Schaetti.
The
registrations from Asia represent especially pleasant news.
With a total of 3,727 square metres, the Japanese companies
have booked an approximately 300 percent larger area than at
ITMA 2003. China will be represented with 58 exhibitors, i.e.,
twice as many as in Birmingham, and participation from India
has also increased considerably with 98 exhibitors and more
than 3,500 square metres compared to ITMA 2003 (86 exhibitors
and 2,536 square metres).
