ExpoHogar Autumn, the International Gift, Interior Decorating and Houseware Show organised by Fira de Barcelona, will be holding its 25th edition at the Gran Vía M2 (L’H) Site between 8 and 12 September 2005.

To mark this important anniversary, the organisers have come up with a range of innovative and exciting ideas, including a space known as “Europa Design” which will offer a range of design proposals from various countries. On this occasion, the focus will be on Portugal, with its “Portugal Des+gn Mais” exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Portuguese Design Centre, “Cenditec”, the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation and Portugal’s Foreign Trade Institute, the ICEP.

ExpoHogar’s Design Competition, which this year will be organised in collaboration with FAD, an organisation for the promotion of decorative arts, will also be celebrating its 25th anniversary and once again awarding prizes to the works of top designers, professionals, companies or students and design schools from various countries. The competition aims to acknowledge and draw attention to the major role played by innovations in design in the gift, decorative and homeware sectors.

The Interior Design Exhibition, co-ordinated by Rosa Regàs and Maite Iglesias, will be held in the hall of palace 1 and will feature furniture, textiles and a range of items, most of which will be provided by event exhibitors.

Houses of the World is a photographic exhibition revealing the interiors of homes from around the world such as Mongolia, Tibet, Yemen, Oman, Iran, Syria, Kenya, Capadocia, Tunisia y Bhutan.

The Gift Packaging Exhibition will be on display in two glass cabinets located in pavilion 2.

The Autumn 2005 edition of ExpoHogar will feature the full range of market proposals, presented by the almost 500 exhibitors who are set to take part in the event, covering a net surface area of some 23,500 sqm. The following sectors will be included: interior decorating, tableware, flower arrangements, gifts, crafts, stationery, Punt 6 – Design Barcelona, fashion jewellery and accessories, candles and fragrances and home textiles.

ExpoHogar expects to welcome more than 33,000 visitors to the forthcoming edition.
